New Websites, TABL
Launch on Thursday
As announced last month, the Lab’s Public Affairs Department is launching a revamped homepage and Today at Berkeley Lab e-mail, as well as introducing a News Center. The websites and e-mail will debut on Thursday. Go here to learn more about these new features. To accommodate this launch, the current version of TABL will not be published on Wednesday. Those who need announcements placed this week should schedule accordingly. For questions about the new websites or scheduling TABL items this week, contact Lyn Hunter.

Job Hazards Analysis
Launches Today
The new Job Hazards Analysis (JHA) tool, which replaces the Job Hazards Questionnaire (JHQ), has been launched. Employees must complete a JHA by Sept. 30. The system is rolling out on a division-by-division basis. Staff should contact their Division Safety Coordinator to find out when the system will be available in their division. Safe Nano Research
Focus of July Meeting
The Department of Energy’s Nanoscale Research Centers, which includes Berkeley Lab’s Molecular Foundry, are sponsoring a 2.5 day symposium on "Safe Handling of Engineered Nanoscale Materials" at Argonne Lab July 7-9. The symposium includes talks by researchers from academia, government agencies and national labs, who will discuss nanotechnology, nanotoxicology, filter performance, protective equipment, exposure assessment, and risk communication.
