Jeffrey Fernandez, Berkeley Lab's Chief Financial Officer, has announced the implementation of a new initiative to streamline the supply chain and establish a new electronic ordering system (starting with office supplies) on Monday at 10 a.m. New eBuy software will allow Lab employees to acquire goods at low cost and order them from their computers. eBuy can be accessed (using Internet Explorer or Safari) at eBuy.lbl.gov, on the BLIS website (under Lifeline Applications), and the Procurement homepage. Using eBuy requires an LDAP username and password and a valid Project ID. No registration or training is needed. Office supplies will now be provided by Pacific Supply and Safety/Corporate Express. After July 30, purchases from Office Max will only be available through Procurement. Go here for more information.
