Decision Reversed;
The Mail Box is Back
Thanks to successful discussions between Berkeley Lab's Facilities Division; the Lab's mail room contractor, Pitney-Bowes Management Services; and the U.S. Postal Service, the previously damaged and removed Lab mail box has been reinstalled. After a parking lot accident dislodged the box last December, the Postal Service had initially decided that it would not replace the box due to the low volume of deposited mail. However, the new agreement resulted in replacing the box at its original location, near the Wells Fargo ATM in the cafeteria parking lot, on Wednesday.
Changes to LBLnet
Affect Some Travelers
At noon on Saturday, April 15, the Lab's network, LBLnet, will be changing its Domain Name Servers (DNS) to prevent the distribution of information about non-Lab domains from off-site. Users who have manually configured their DNS on systems such as laptops will need to return to default settings. For details, contact the IT Help Desk (x4357).
