Alivisatos Featured
In This Week’s Quest

KQED’s QUEST science series featured an episode, “Nanotechnology Takes Off,” broadcast Tuesday night that was filmed at the Molecular Foundry and featured Paul Alivisatos among the guests. The show can be viewed in its entirety via PC on the QUEST website and will also be replayed on KQED HD (Comcast 709) on Friday at 8 p.m., and again on KQED Channel 9 at 10:30 p.m. The website also offers links to related materials that feature the Lab.

Flex-Fuel Car Feature

image

A news item on flex-fuel vehicles, which U.S. automakers demonstrated to President Bush at the White House earlier this week, featured Berkeley Lab as one of the few places in California where such cars could fuel up. Flex-fuel cars burn ethanol, a byproduct of corn or sugar cane, and at present less than 1 percent of U.S. gas stations carry the blend. To view the video, which also features UC Berkeley Professor Dan Kammen, go here.
