E-Mail Storage Costs Are Cut
The Lab's Information Technology (IT) Division is reducing the rate charged for IMAP e-mail storage by 20 percent. The cost is now $1.40 per megabyte (Mbyte) per month for storage over 100 Mbytes. This reduction (from the current rate of $1.75 per Mbyte) takes effect with the January billing month, which ends Thursday, Jan. 19. The IT Division, in collaboration with the Lab-wide IT Advisory Committee (ITAC), analyzed the e-mail costing model, and it was determined that a reduction to the storage rate could be accommodated during this budget cycle. IT will continue to work with ITAC to review alternative e-mail rate structures.
