On-Site Traffic To Be
Stopped for Runaround
Shuttle buses and other on-site vehicles will be stopped at 11:45 a.m. Friday when the hill is turned over to the SHARES Runaround. Traffic will be able to resume around 1:15 p.m. upon completion of the event. The cafeteria parking lot will be blocked completely during the day, and the bus stop there will not reopen until around 2 p.m. The Bancroft shuttle bus will operate on the regular schedule, but from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., the bus will turn around at the Strawberry gate rather than at Building 62/66. Other off-site buses will run on the regular schedule throughout the day. For questions, call x4165.

EHS Offers Hard Hat
Safety Information
Hard hats are designed to protect the head from the force of an impact. To ensure that they provide the intended level of protection, hard hats must be regularly inspected for damage to the shell and suspension. Replacement hard hats, ratchet suspensions (4-point and 6-point) and browpads for Bullard hard hats are available at the central store located in building 78. Additional information on hard hat inspection procedures is available on the EHS Industrial Hygiene webpage. Contact Betsy MacGowan at x2826 for more information.

Hurricane Katrina Food
Drive Going Strong
The Hurricane Katrina food drive is still going strong. As of Oct. 7, 807 pounds of food had been collected. The food drive’s goal, which lasts until Oct. 31, is one ton. Bring non-perishable food items to one of these drop-off points: the cafeteria lobby, Building 69 entry, Building 69-229, Building 76-222, Building 3-146 (Calvin), Building 943-275, and Building 100 at the Joint Genome Institute. For more information, contact Deborah Martin.
