October Is Energy
Awareness Month
The Department of Energy's Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) is again this year helping the Lab observe Energy Awareness Month with conservation tips for the home and office. This year's theme is, "Not in Use? Turn Off the Juice!" Facilities energy analyst Syed Ali will be in the Cafeteria lobby during lunch throughout next week, dispensing Energy Awareness Month information and other freebies. Go here for more information.
Lab Streets to Get
Cleaned Tomorrow
A convoy of sweeping trucks will descend upon the Lab tomorrow to clean streets, parking lots and walkways around the Hill, starting at 5 a.m. Employees are asked to make sure Lab vehicles are not parked too close to buildings, trash containers or shrubbery, so the trucks can maneuver in these areas. Drivers and pedestrians are asked to use caution when near these trucks, as their visibility is limited. Questions can be directed to Bob Berninzoni (x5576).
Got News? We'll Help You Share it With Lab
The editors of Today at Berkeley Lab can help departments and individuals spread important news about conferences, research, awards, and other activities. Know an interesting person who works here? Send along that information as well so we can share their story with others. Story ideas can be e-mailed here.
