UC, Service Union Reach
Agreement; Lab Excepted
A
tentative agreement reached by the University of
California with service workers who went on strike
for one day last week does not include a wage agreement
for Berkeley Lab. Details of the three-year agreement
reached with AFSCME, which represents 7,300 University
workers at campuses, medical centers and Berkeley
Lab, will not be available until the workers approve
it. But it includes wage increases over the next
three years. The separate Berkeley Lab wage negotiations
are continuing. Go here
to read a UC release on the agreement.
