Lab Invention Wins Emerging Technology Award

More than 120 companies and universities submitted their technical inventions and business plans to the summit. The top three submissions were selected for 2007 TechConnect Emerging Technology Awards.

The awards ceremony will take place Wednesday, May 23rd at 5:45 p.m. in room 212 of the Santa Clara convention center during the joint CleanTech/Tech Connect Summits.
The award-winning solar cells, based on dense, inorganic nanocrystal films, are solution-processed and ultra-thin like organic photovoltaics, but they offer additional advantages typical of inorganic systems, such as long-term environmental stability, broadband absorption, and high carrier mobilities.

Ilan Gur will be presenting the nanocrystal solar cell technology to CleanTech on Thursday, May 24 at 3 pm. Dr. Chen will address TechConnect on Thursday, May 24 at 10:50 am.
