RE: OCFO Reduction in Force (RIF)
Due to budget constraints for the OCFO, reductions must be made to address these concerns, and to achieve maximum efficiencies in our operations. Therefore, the OCFO is entering into a Reduction in Force (RIF) effective July 18, 2006. A call for volunteers for layoff is being issued today (July 18, 2006), and will extend through noon on July 28, 2006. Approval or disapproval of voluntary requests will be based on business needs. If selected, volunteers may be eligible to receive severance pay in accordance with Laboratory policy. Once the volunteer process is completed, other specific positions may be targeted for layoff.
Employees who are selected for involuntary layoff will be notified as soon as is practical.
If you are thinking about volunteering, please contact the OCFO HR Center. If you have any benefits-related questions, please contact the Benefits Office. Remember, you must notify and submit your volunteer request submission (attached to this e-mail) to the OCFO HR Center Representative (Mari Cook, ext. 4709) by noon (12:00p.m.) on July 28, 2006 in order for your request to be considered.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
