Statement of Berkeley Lab CFO Fernandez on Appointment of Anil More

"I am delighted to announce that, effective Jan. 2, 2006,  Anil More has re-joined the staff of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) as Manager of Operations. Anil has been working with me and the senior management team of the OCFO for the last eight months on various initiatives and issues and has become a trusted colleague.

"Anil will play a major role in developing, planning, and managing all operational aspects of the OCFO. He will have oversight for major organizational functions, including strategic planning and execution, which includes oversight of major initiatives such as supply chain management.  He will have responsibility for the Financial Policy and Training, and Financial Systems and Reporting Departments.  Anil will continue to work closely with the OCFO Business Manager, Linda Wuy, on all budget, human resources, safety, and facility planning issues.

"Anil brings 25 years of Berkeley Lab experience to this position. Prior to joining the OCFO, Anil was the Department Head of the Administrative Services Department for approximately four years. Before becoming the Head of ASD, Anil held positions of increasing responsibility at the Lab, including Business Manager positions in General and Computing Sciences, as well as various positions in the former Financial Services Department.  Anil holds an MBA from Golden Gate University in Finance."
