I think it’s a fantastic job!
For more than 20 years this researcher from Barcelona has been peering into the secret world of atoms, the basic building blocks of our universe. Salmerón, a materials scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, has designed special microscopes powerful enough to see individual atoms, and dexterous enough to manipulate them. The ability to experiment on matter at so fundamental a level continues to yield breakthroughs in medicine, high technology and all aspects of life.
