Voter
Registration Forms
To Be Available at Lab
Two
civic-minded employees from Environmental Energy Technologies
will assist qualified Lab employees in registering to
vote in the November general election. Marc
Fischer and Lynn Price will
provide voter registration forms and information in
the cafeteria lobby, beginning next Wednesday, Sept.
15. They will staff a table that day during the noon
hour to answer questions and distribute forms for Alameda
and Contra Costa counties, then leave the forms for
pick-up on subsequent days. Registration deadline is
October 18.

Maintenance
Will Cause
Weekend Power Outages
Several
power outages are scheduled for tomorrow and Sunday to
allow for equipment maintenance and modification. They
include:
- Buildings 51F, 55, 55A, 56, 60 and 63 from 6 a.m.Saturday
to 6 p.m. Sunday. The emergency generator will provide
power to connected loads in buildings 55 and 56. Contact
Jim Murphy (x4175 or x6023) or Glenn
Skipper (x6125).
- Building 90 Complex, between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday.
The emergency generator will provide power to connected
loads. Contact Jim Murphy or Tamara Krymskaya
(x5371).
- Buildings 85, 85A and 85B between 6 a.m. and 4
p.m. Saturday. The emergency generator will provide
power to connected loads. Contact Jim Murphy.
- The Old Town area will have partial outages Saturday
for equipment modifications at buildings 16, 17, 27,
52 and 53. Read building posting for loads affected.

Caution
Urged During
Paving This Weekend
Road
drilling and paving will take place near Buildings 7C,
27, 52, 52A, 53, and 44 this weekend. Pedestrians and
drivers are urged to use caution when traveling through
this area. Tomorrow, two road areas will be resurfaced:
the intersection in the area of Building 6 door B, Building
43, and partially in front of the fire truck parking area;
and the road from buildings 58 and 47 to the south end
of Building 46. The roadway to Sally's Alley in the Building
7 area will be closed to non-emergency through-traffic.
Flaggers and detours will be in place all day Saturday.
Some parking spaces will be blocked off south and west
of the fire truck parking area today and Saturday. For

Server Maintenance
Set for Sunday Morning
In
an effort to meet dynamic cyber security threats, the
Lab’s Information Technology and Services Division
(ITSD) will perform maintenance on central e-mail, directory,
and web servers this Sunday. ITSD will update, upgrade,
and patch various central computer systems between 8
a.m. and noon. E-mail, directory, or web services may
be unavailable during this maintenance window. Contact
