Demand Response

Goldman

Successful demand response requires more than just subjecting customers to the vagaries of wholesale power prices, says a new study by researchers at Berkeley Lab. Researchers looked closely at Niagara Mohawk's use of real-time pricing to shift and limit loads in response to hourly wholesale market price changes. Said Charles Goldman, the report's lead author, generally, customers are satisfied with real-time pricing as the default tariff, although some customers said that price hedging options are not attractively priced relative to perceived risks. Giants Tickets Go
On Sale Monday

The Employee Activities Association is sponsoring an evening at SBC Park for Lab employees to watch the San Francisco Giants battle the New York Mets on Friday, Aug. 20 at 7:15 p.m. Tickets go on sale this Monday, between noon and 1 p.m., in the cafeteria lobby. Purchase price is $17 per ticket, payable by check only. Limited quantities are available, so employees are encouraged to act quickly.
