Calendar Workshop
Hosted by ASD
Employees are invited to attend a class on using the Lab's calendaring system on Friday, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, in Building 2-100B. Curtis McDonald, with Information and Technologies Services, will share with participants some special functions that will help users more successfully set up calendar events, including scheduling tips and tricks. Unix and Linux
Users, Beware
Unix and Linux system users and administrators -- did you know that an entry of "xhost +" in your X11 config-uration file, the path and filename for which vary from one flavor of Unix/Linux to another, is extremely dangerous? It can allow virtually anyone to gain control of your system. The Computer Protection Program strongly urges you to add the name(s) of hosts to which you want to give access, such as "xhost + lblserver," in the appropriate file in your system. For questions or advice call the Help Desk at x4357 or send email to [email protected].
