Statement by University of California President Robert C. Dynes regarding the nomination of Samuel Bodman to be US Secretary of Energy.

"Energy Secretary-designate Samuel Bodman has a strong background combining academics, science, management and private sector experience which, in addition to his strong performance as Deputy Secretary of both Commerce and Treasury, will serve him well as Secretary and prove valuable to our country and the Department of Energy. As managers of three national laboratories on behalf of the Department of Energy, and a leader through our campuses and laboratories in energy science research, we look forward to working with Secretary-designate Bodman. I would also like to thank Secretary Abraham for his years of service. He has been a great public servant to our nation and I appreciated the opportunity to work with him. I wish him well in the future."
