State
of Lab Thursday;
See It in Person, on Web
Director
Charles Shank will be giving employees his sense of the
"State of the Laboratory" in his annual noontime talk
on Thursday, and people will have various ways to access it.
The first 230 people in the Building 50 Auditorium will get
to see it in person and ask questions at the end. Others may
watch it on the various "Today at Berkeley Lab" video
screens around the lab. Or they can link directly to streaming
video on the Web. It is recommended that you go to the website
early to test your RealPlayer
configurations. See instructions for checking RealPlayer configurations
and linking to the video here.
For assistance or questions, call the Help
Desk at 4357. |

Dining
With A
Purpose This
voracious goat and about 350 of his hungry friends have descended
upon Berkeley Lab this spring and summer to partake of the
delicacies that proliferate on the hillsides. The herd, guided
by Oscar Iturra and managed by Goats R Us of Orinda, is an
essential annual element in the laboratorys wildland
management program a natural way of keeping vegetation
at low, fire-resistent levels. The goats at Berkeley Lab eat
their way through 40 to 50 acres each season. When last seen,
they were munching their way through Blackberry Canyon. |
