Dear Berkeley Lamp Customer or Interested Party:
Light Corporation is pleased to announce the re-introduction
of the fantastic Berkeley Lamp. We apologize to those of you
who experienced some difficulties with the ballast on the
product. Light Corporation recognized the problem late last
year and stopped assembly of the product until a suitable
and proven ballast could be located. We have been successful
in our search and have resumed production this past month.
The ballast now being used has been field proven in other
products and does not show the same problems as our original
unit. The product has not been recalled, as the failures are
in no way a safety concern. The symptom is a failure of the
ballast to start the lamp.
Due to the large demand and interest in this unique product,
we have been working on our backlog of orders this month and
will complete this work by July 15, 2003. We have had a tremendous
response to this product. Most of this response has been from
those of you who already have one on your desk. While we figured
the biggest benefit of the product would be the potential
energy savings, much of the feedback has been on the quality
and quantity of light from the fixture. It is truly unique
and has proven to be a big success. Lawrence Berkeley National
Labs and Light Corporation have worked very hard to deliver
a high performance product to you.

offering the same fixture design and have changed only the
