DOE Taps Stottler Henke To Develop Grid Software

San Mateo-based Stottler Henke Associates, Inc. has been tapped by DOE to develop software that improves computer clusters and grids. Berkeley Lab is one of Stottler Henke's partners on the project, called the Agent-Based High Availability (ABHA) system. According to Douglas Olson, a nuclear physicist in the Lab's Computational Research Division, several of their experiments push the performance limits of the computing infrastructure common to experimental physics. “The key is to be resilient when a failure occurs; we expect ABHA will afford us that resiliency,” he said. Take the Hazard
Communication Survey

The goal of Berkeley Lab’s Hazard Communication Program is to ensure employers and employees know about work hazards and have the appropriate information to protect themselves, which is instrumental in helping reduce chemical illness and injuries. The program can be found in the Lab’s Chemical Hygiene and Safety Plan. This plan defines responsibilities and requirements for handling chemicals. Hazard communication involves training, material safety data sheets, container labeling, and hazard controls. Please click on this link to login and take a brief survey to learn more about Hazard Communication.
