Effective
last Friday at 5 p.m., the Your Benefits On-Line area
of the University of California’s At Your Service
website (http://atyourservice.ucop.edu)
and UC’s interactive touch-tone service bencom.fone
will contain enhanced security features:
Sign-In Authorization
Every employee who logs on to Your Benefits On-Line
area of the At Your Service website or calls bencom.fone
will see or hear a Sign-In Authorization. Agreeing to the
Authorization acknowledges the use of the UC PIN in lieu of
a signature for benefits transactions. This is a one-time
process – if the authorization is agreed to, the authorization
will not appear or be heard again.
Username as Sign-In Identification
Employees using Your Benefits On-Line will now be given
the option to establish a username (6 to 15 characters in
length) to supplement their Social Security number, and can
use either their username or their Social Security number
in conjunction with their UC PIN when accessing the Your
Benefits On-Line web application.
Personal Question and Answer to reset PIN
Employees will be encouraged to create a Personal Question
and Answer to confirm their identity if they forget their
UC PIN – if the employee forgets their PIN they will
need to provide the correct answer to the Personal Question
in order to proceed with resetting the PIN via the At Your
Service website.
Lost PIN application expanded
Now former employees and annuitants can use the “Lost
Your PIN” application on the At Your Service
website – this was previously restricted to current
employees only.
First time Access - Your Benefits On-Line or bencom.fone
The procedure for accessing Your Benefits On-Line or
bencom.fone for the first time remains the same – employees
should use their Social Security number in conjunction with
the generic “0000” (four zeroes) PIN. After agreeing
to the Sign-In Authorization, the first time user will then
be able to establish a personalized four-digit UC PIN as well
to take advantage of the new security enhancements.
At Your Service, Your Benefits On-Line and
bencom.fone provide employees with benefits information
and the ability to make paperless benefits transactions. For
a guide to options available to employees, or for questions
regarding the UC automated benefits applications, contact
the Berkeley Lab Benefits office at 6403 or [email protected].
