Postdoc Unionization Informational Briefing Today, 1 p.m., in Bldg. 50 Auditorium

The United Auto Workers (UAW) has requested to be recognized as the exclusive representative of University of California postdoctoral scholars. Currently, the UAW has excluded Berkeley Lab postdoctoral scholars from this unionization effort. However, the union is making efforts to have Lab postdocs sign union recognition cards.  In an effort to keep employees and supervisors fully informed about this process, the Lab’s Employee-Labor Relations Department will conduct four informational meetings for postdocs and their supervisors, with the first one taking place today and continuing throughout the week. A complete schedule follows:
