Electronics Maintenance Technician II/III (Engineering) Perform routine and instrument maintenance, repair and calibrate complex electronics or electro-mechanical circuits, mechanisms, equipment, instruments, computers and systems.

Manager of Internship Programs (Public Affairs) Manage internship programs for the Center for Science and Engineering Education in support of teacher, faculty and student research participation at Berkeley Lab.

Nanoscience Program Administrator (Materials Sciences) Support the nanoscience program leader and research group with proactive, comprehensive administrative services and budget/subcontract management.

Recharge Manager (IT) Provide multi-faceted support and manage the recharge operations and vendor relationships in support of the Lab's telecommunication services.

Senior Scientific Engineering Associate (Environmental Energy Technologies) Provide scientific and engineering support for R&D or application of performance monitoring and diagnostic methods to improve performance of commercial buildings.

Guest House: Rooms Are Available for Lab Visitors

guest houseHave a Lab visitor that needs a place to stay while here? Employees are reminded that the newly constructed Guest House is available for onsite accommodations. The Guest House features 57 rooms in three different sizes: standard, large, and studio. Amenities include wireless internet access, flat-screen TVs, micro-fridges, complimentary parking, a laundry room, and daily housekeeping service. More>

flu shotEH&S: Seasonal Flu Shot Clinic Scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 2

Lab employees can take advantage of another onsite seasonal flu shot clinic, scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 2 from 8 a.m. to noon. Cost is $10. Pneumonia shots will also be available for $45. Appointments are required (x6266).

Public Affairs: Blog Lists Lab Mentions in the News Media

blogFrom such lofty publications as the New York Times and R&D Magazine to local outlets like the San Francisco Chronicle and the Daily Cal, Berkeley Lab is a newsmaker, appearing in hundreds of news sites all over the world. To help employees better track where and how the Lab and its researchers are mentioned, the Public Affairs Office has created a daily updated, searchable media blog, which includes brief summaries of articles that link to full stories. The blog is accessible from the Lab’s homepage (bottom of left column) and on the News Center (right column). Those interested can have a link to the blog e-mailed to them every Friday. Have you seen Berkeley Lab mentioned in a news outlet? If so, e-mail the link and we’ll add it to the blog.

shoeEH&S: Red Wing Safety Shoes Onsite Tomorrow

The Red Wing Work Shoe vendor will be onsite tomorrow from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The shoemobile will be located on Lawrence Road near Strawberry Gate. Employees may be required to wear safety shoes to protect from potential hazards. Those working in areas where there is a danger of foot injuries due to falling or rolling objects, or objects piercing the sole, may be authorized to purchase safety shoes. More>
