Registering of Disabled Parking Placards to Begin

In accordance with California Vehicle Code 4461 “No person may lend any certificate of ownership, registration card, license plate, validation tab or permit issued to him or her if the person desiring to borrow it would not be entitled to its use, nor may any person knowingly permit it’s use by one not entitled to it.” Under subsection 5007, this is a misdemeanor with fines of no less that $250 and no more than $1,000. There are also fines levied for those who have not been issued a disabled placard but still illegally park in a disabled parking space.
