In Memoriam: Facilities Carpenter Harry Bash; Memorial Service Tomorrow

harryHarry Bash, Facilities Division Carpenter, passed away on August 22 from pancreatic cancer. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 28, at 1 p.m. in Tulocay Cemetery, 411 Coombsville Road, Napa, CA. (707 252-4727).

As an advocate for safety, Harry furthered the cause by being the chairperson of the Facilities employee-based safety observation program, WOW (Workers Observing Workers). He also participated in the Facilities PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Fashion Show (pictured), Safety Carnival and the Phantom of the Laboratory Haunted House.

As a carpenter, Harry received much kudos for his work. He would receive kudos like “Harry accommodated our needs expediently, patiently, in a business-like manner, and always doing high-quality work."

As a food connoisseur- he won the Facilities Division Chili Cook Off in 2005 and 2006 with his team.

But as a multi-faceted person, Harry shared himself by teaching people his trade. Harry taught an intensive, hands-on program that introduces graduates of the California Conservation Corps (CCC) to the building trades.

We will all miss Harry's forever smiling face and his friendly, positive attitude.

Mrs. Bash welcomes those who would like to say a few kind words about Harry at the funeral.

If you are interested in making a donation, they may be made to Hospice Foundation of America in honor of Harry Bash . Sherri (Harry's wife) is requesting the attire to be Hawaiian themed - please no black.
