Daughters and Sons To Work Day: Movies

"A Lesson in Aerodynamics" (requires QuickTime)

An airplane seems to defy the law of gravity; it’s amazing that something so large and heavy can fly through the air. But the reason airplanes can fly is based on solid scientific principles. This experiment, presented by CSEE's own Dale Koistinen, looked at the whys and hows of airplane flight.

"The Mysteries of Liquid Nitrogen" (requires QuickTime)
Have you ever made ice cream using liquid air? Have you ever frozen a rubber band so that it shatters when you drop it? Have you ever made a cloud? In this experiment, AFRD's Ina Reichel revealed the properties of Liquid Nitrogen and what it means to be hundreds of degrees below zero.
